Monday - 30th April

Today we woke to some sunshine which made the coast at Torquay much more inviting and beautiful although the seas were very rough and the sun was fighting to keep its head in front of the rain clouds so needless to say we had more rain at times.   You can see from the photos of the harbour how rough and big the waves were. We tracked across from Torquay to the freeway and headed for Plymouth, Liskeard then down to St Austell where we stopped for a little while.  We then followed the freeway to Truro where I quickly looked in a Cathedral while Peter sat in the car as it was hard to find a car park and it was raining.  A lovely cathedral and well worth the brief stop.  From here we travelled towards Land’s End visiting St Michael’s Mount on the way.  When we arrived at Land’s End it was late in the day and very windy and spitting rain which didn’t make it very pleasant for viewing Land’s End as it was a bit of a walk from the car.  We met a young guy who had ridden his push bike from John O’Groats at the top of Scotland to Land’s End at the bottom of England.  Peter had to take his photo as proof of his achievement for his family and friends back home.  We then travelled on through St Ives to our final resting place at Newquay.
