1st May - Bath

Well we arrived into Bath late on the 1^st May after our long diversion into Padstow.  It was around 7.30pm drizzling rain and we were unpacking the car when a man came and told us that we were probably at the wrong hotel as he was not expecting any more check ins for the day… mmm… upon checking the name we were in the correct place BUT I had booked the wrong date.  Not sure how that happened… the computer must have stuffed up!!  Anyway he fitted us in and we decided to stay for two nights as I was getting a bit sick of sitting in a car all day and watching the scenery pass me by plus we thought that there was plenty to see in Bath.  After we checked in we walked down the street to a lovely restaurant on the river that the guy in our hotel had recommended and booked us into.  To get there we had to walk across a private toll bridge… 50p for cars to use, free for pedestrians….  The restaurant was on the banks of the river with most of their outdoor eating area flooded to half way up the tables and their car park was two thirds flooded with the water still rising as we ate.  Our meal was very nice and we both enjoyed the walk back to our accommodation after being stuck in the car for days on end.
