Wednesday 14th March - Sea Day

Well we woke to a morning of high wind which has accelerated during the day to a force 8 hurricane wind even though we are not in a hurricane or cyclone.  Consequently all the outside decks are closed which limits activity to the indoors which put a stop to my plans to play tennis.  The sea is quite rough but we seem to be heading into the waves which seems to lessen the rolling around.  It is probably the roughest seas I have been in but thankfully no sea sickness for either of us.  From the map we are about half way around the bottom end of Aus somewhere in the bight.  I went to the gym for the first time for about an hour using the aerobic equipment and the weight machines.  I also went to my first art lesson which went for an hour is on every sea day which should be interesting.  There were a lot of people there probably about 40 or more.  We are painting the Olgas with a few kangaroos thrown into the foreground.    I enjoyed it and should be a qualified artist by the end of the cruise!!   This afternoon is an interview with the Captain which I may go to and a sunset stretch class which may be tempting.  Tonight is a Semi-formal night which means a jacket for men.

A correction from my previous sea day post is that 3 times around the deck equals one mile not one kilometre as I reported.

An update on the seas… they have gotten much bumpier with the ship rolling and thumping over waves… exciting!!  At least the sun is out.  Bye for now.
